Another 3 points in the bag for the champions elect…..3 goals from Leigh Griffiths and a 8 point lead in the title race ,celtic now go home to paradise on friday night to play Dundee the night before Aberdeen face Dundee utd at tannadice…results going Celtics way we could be champions by saturday tea time, but lets not get ahead of ourselves, todays result was as professional a job the bhoys have done this season ,granted first half was a bit topsy turvey but once we got the first goal there was only going to be one result…….
Leigh Griffiths again was the man on form and in the goals I make it that’s 18 for the season and 25 in 51 appearances in the hoops not a bad return at all, always new that he would bang in the goals for us,the first goal was a belter struck low across the box and goalkeeper Cierzniak was unable to stop the shot going in at his right corner, celtic were creating good chances and the big keeper was all that was standing between celtic and the 3 points…….
Goal 2 seemed to take everyone by surprise Commons swung in a corner from the left which Morris headed on to his own post before it fell to the feet of the Hoops striker in the six-yard box.He prodded the ball over the line before Cierzniak clawed it back out, only for Griffiths to place the ball beyond the keeper again, leaving the goal in no doubt at 2-0 celtic were cruising and a few of the players namely izziguirre chose to do a bit of showboating at times to the delight of the celtic fans……
Goal 3 came from the penalty spot Mackay Steven was adjudged to be brought down in the box and Griffith expertly scored for the hatrick he really deserved,to be fair to Dundee utds Rankin the tackle was outside the box ,I cant help think that a wee bit of karma was involved there as penalty decisions seemed to be dominating the media in the last few weeks ,il take them whatever way they come as long as wee win …
another step closer to 4 in a row and Ronnie deila will be happy his first season in charge is a trophy laden one a double is not a bad return ,along with a semi final appearance in the Scottish cup that should have been more, had the officials not taken that one away from us,yes id say 2014-15 has been a good season ,all that’s left to do now is win on friday night and hope Aberdeen slip up on saturday ,nevertheless should they come through that game,it sets it up nicely for pittodrie on the 10th of may HH
