Wee Jambos Schooled By Classy Celts In Tynecastle Showdown

Hearts v Celtic Scottish Cup venue Tynecastle on a ploughed field, firstly let me say that pitch was a disgrace..another piggery like ibrox..surely the first priority for any professional football club is to have a decent pitch to play on, something really needs to be done about clubs who expect teams to come play on a pitch that bad, anyway moan over, the game started like I expected with Hearts pushing forward early and getting some early momentum, but the tackles were flying in from both teams and when Hearts captain for the day Gomez went flying into a crunching over the top lunge there was only going to be one outcome in Willie Collum  mind a red card Scott Brown the recipient was lucky that he wasnt caught fully by such a reckless challenge, so Hearts were down to 10 men after just 8 mins and you could see them deflate before your very eyes, for the remainder off the half they were camped in their own half unable to get out Celtics domination was evident on 28 mins when big Virgil Van Dyk smashed home a Stokes cross ,Celtic continued to dominate the remaining 17 mins the Hearts youngsters struggling to put anything of note together are there minds elsewhere with a strong 9 point lead in the championship is this Scottish cup a sidetrack they can do without it seems so as half time approaches….

Van dyk 1-0

Second half starts like first ended with Celtic domination it’s been a while in the fixture against Hearts that so much possession was enjoyed by the hoops, we’ve won games by big margins but possession of the ball stats will suggest in this game we were totally in control, on 50 mins McKay appeared to bring down Guidetti and Willie Collum  gave the penalty, I can put on the green goggles and say it was a stonewaller but I won’t I thing the big swede was fortunate to win the penalty, it wasnt a dive just the big man’s momentum took him down,he stepped up to smash home his 11 th of the season, celtic could see Hearts heads go down and a former Hibs player Anthony Stokes would take his chance on 53 mins from a. Brown setup to score number 3….

Guidetti penalty

Ronnie Deila must have been happy with the way his bhoys were playing and further progression in another cup competition was on the cards, it’s all coming together nicely for him and the back room bhoys, he took Forrest off on 57 mins for Aston villa loaner Tonev to push home their dominance, 61 mins and it was number 4 for celtic with a brilliant header for Van dyk from a corner rising majestically to power home, he should have had a hat trick to be honest after a glaring miss under the post but big Virgil will be happy with 2 goals, for a centre half he was excellent today…
Hearts managed a shot on goal on 63 mins but that’s all the wee gers could muster on a day they were being outclassed by a team head and shoulders better, between 63 mins and 65 mins that was proven by a 60 pass sequence by celtic as the olleys went up from the 3000 travelling celtic fans,66 mins and Commons and Griffiths came on for Stokes and Johansen, im sure the Hearts faithful were getting even more tense with these two additions, Celtic to be fair were never in danger in this game, whether the sending off changed the game or not the difference between 2 teams in opposite divisions was evident Celtic were more hungry and I repeat I think Hearts had there minds on other things like promotion back to the top league…

Stokes 3-0

Chris Commons had the ball in the net again on 78 mins after Alexander spilled the ball but the goal was disallowed, as the Craigy Whyte chants rung around Tynecastle the wee gers players looked like rabbits in the headlights the task was way to much for them and the whistle could have blown right there and then, it’s always great to beat Hearts and we’ve done that comfortably in the last few yrs, with sevco winning 3-0 in the earlier fixture against Kilmarnock Celtic again could meet the tribute act in the next round,Ronnie Deila and the back room staff celebrated at the end with the players and fans like they did when they won at Pittodrie a few weeks ago the passion of the boss again shines through and he is certainly is growing into the toughest job in Scotland..
